Silk bedding — not just made for royalty now

Did you know that silk bedding… blankets, sheets and pillows used to be available only to Chinese royalty…?  In modern times though, even the more common people can fill their bedrooms with luxurious silk bed linens.

You can even find silk sheets and pillowcases in the most gorgeous palette of colors ever imagined… surely something for everyone’s taste can be found in these days…ivory, pearl, sage, red, even black are available to dress your bed in silk.

If you have allergies, you’ll be delighted to know that silk is hypoallergenic. So even if cotton has you sneezing and wheezing, you’ll sleep like a baby on your silk sheets and under those silk blankets.

Amazingly enough its fibers hold onto our body heat very efficiently, meaning simply that you’ll stay warmer than you think you will. Even a fairly thin silk blanket should keep you toasty on a fall night. So if you’re used to heavy down and feather comforters, I think you’ll be delighted if you give these blankets to try.

Something else that people love about silk bedding is that it feels cool to the touch even as it’s keeping me warm.  I don’t know if there is truly any other bedding out there that can compete point for point with silk. Of course the cost can be a little prohibitive.  But if money is no object, then by all means get busy outfitting a bedroom of yours in silk bedsheets, pillowcases and blankets.
